Maah Keita performs Takeifa band in Dakar . Maah Koudia Keita is easily recognized throughout Senegal, and not only because she is the bassist of the successful family band, Takeifa. From her platform as a musician, she also takes the stage as an ambassador for the albino community, speaking to the media about the need to eliminate the stigma that exists against them, in Senegal and throughout Africa. She also goes directly to this disparaged minority group through Care Albinos, the association she started with her family, to distribute protective skin care products, screen for signs of skin cancer, and provide psychological support and solidarity in a sometimes-hostile environment.
