Thanks to the GCCA+ action, the Pilote-Barre beach has been restored, and the fishers can resumed their activities.
In 2016, the EU, via GCCA +, supports the Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) and the Department of Environment and Classified Establishments (DEEC) of the Senegalese Ministry of the Environment. The village Pilote-Barre sandy beach was restored, this initiative saved it from the threat of the encroaching sea caused by the opening of the Langue de Barbarie breach excavated in 2003.
